In this project, my aim was to create something truly exceptional for my family by dedicating my editorial endeavor to our family-owned company, Olimar. I sought to transform the valuable content stored in our archives into a tangible representation, serving not only as an academic pursuit but also as a lasting testament to the remarkable legacy forged by multiple generations. Established in 1946 by my great-grandfather, Domingos Francisco Ramilo, Olimar is a revered metalworking factory specializing in the production of gearboxes, winches, machinery, and various precision components. Every facet of my work embodies the analogy of an intricate and invisible machinery, with each element of the book—carefully crafted captions and impactful imagery—playing an indispensable role in effectively communicating the essence and significance of Olimar.

Designed with simplicity in mind, the book allows the Olimar box and logo to eloquently convey their message. Serving as a metaphorical machine into which the book, as a vital piece, seamlessly fits, the box not only provides protection but also contributes to its overall functionality. Constructed from discarded stainless steel remnants found within the factory, the box exemplifies the authentic nature of our craftsmanship, boasting an intentionally unpolished appearance that reveals the visible marks of its manufacturing processes. Through this deliberate choice, I aimed to authentically capture the raw and genuine essence of our work and the timeless spirit of Olimar.
